Julian Walker

Julian Walker studied jewellery at Morley College, and then fine art at City of London Polytechnic and Central St Martins. He has worked for many decades with installation, printmaking and sculpture.
His work is much influenced by grids, particularly as used in Constructivism (particularly in the work of Joaquin Torres-Garcia and Ben Nicholson), Brutalist architecture, and prehistoric art.
Materials and tools used include antique dominoes, antler, wood engraving tools, boxwood, antique lacemaking bobbins, industrial concrete, and fine gemstones.
All the fittings (pegs, scrolls) on the earstuds are 925 silver or silver plated. Settings are Araldite 24hr cure. The brooches have long steel pins at the back, with a steel and rubber stopper. All pieces are signed. Gemstones and silver from Hatton Garden suppliers.
